George Bush and Dick Cheney claim that history will vindicate their misadministration.I have to ask just how far disconnected from reality a person would have to be to think that possible
Let's take a brief look at their main accomplishments:
- The lightning fast impassioned response to the destruction caused dy hurricane Katrina.
- The illegal wiretapping of American citizens.
- The Patriot Act.
- Telecom immunity.
- Loss of Habeas Corpus.(I suppose if you lump 2,3,4,&5 together it could be argued that Bush was right about one thing;that the U.S. Constitution is just a "Goddamned piece of paper."
- Lying America into an illegal act of aggression against a sovereign nation.
- Enhanced interrogation techniques.re;TORTURE.
- The worst economy since the "Great Depression".
- The systematic desruction of EPA regulations.
Horrendous as the the first eight on that list are, I believe that number nine has the potential to be the" elephant in the room" when all is said and done. It's entirely possible that this administrations' refusal to be signatory to the Kyoto Protocol, and subsequent refusal to hold the U.S. to any level of reducing CO2 emissions may prove to be the reason not to worry about how history will judge the Presidency of George W. Bush as this planet has to have a future to have more history.http://www.idependent.co.uk/environment/climate-change.com
